Food alerts & warnings

Food Hazard Warnings (FHWs) are issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to let local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, provide details of specific action to be taken. You can view current alerts (or search for past warnings) on the FSA's website.

Where foods have been withdrawn or recalled because there is a food allergy risk (for example allergy labelling is missing or incorrect) these foods are listed on the Food Standards Agency's website as an allergy alert.

The Food Standards Agency also carries out a range of work to make sure food is safe to eat, including funding research on chemical, microbiological and radiological safety, as well as food hygiene and allergy.
