This explains the need to comply with the Animal By-Products (Scotland) Regulations 2003 (as most recently amended by the Animal By-Products (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2009), if you dispose of any food waste.

It also explains the purpose of the Regulations and concentrates on the disposal of what is known as ‘Category 3’ waste and includes some useful flowcharts showing how you can decide how to dispose of your waste food.

It also provides links to the Scottish Government and Defra websites, where details of carriers, renderers collection centres, etc are available.
