The Food Safety Act 1990 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 state that any food descriptions provided must not falsely describe the food, or be likely to mislead as to the nature, substance or quality of the food being served.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Practices Regulations 2008 also make it an offence to fail to provide information about the price of the food before the customer decides to purchase it. Prices displayed should be unambiguous, easily identifiable and clearly visible at the place where the customer chooses his food. The Companies Act 2006 requires you to display your trading name, address and company registration number, if relevant.
