Package tours and holidays

The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 apply to package holidays, defined as holidays including overnight accommodation, a combination of at least two of the following; transport, accommodation, and other tourist services eg car hire, and that are offered at an inclusive price.

The Regulations state that, if you are ‘the other party’ to a contract with a customer, providing them with a holiday that is classed as a package, you must provide evidence of the arrangements you have made to secure money to refund customers should you be unable to complete the contract.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 creates offences regarding misleading actions and omissions which will include price indications, facilities and accommodation.
