Frequently Asked Questions
Can you carry out a UKAS Traceable calibration of my weights?
- For ecconomic reasons from 1 October 2006 our Mass Laboratory has withdrawn from providing UKAS Traceable calibration of Mass.
Alternative service providers are listed at http://www.ukas.org
What are the tolerances for each weight within their accuracy class?
How frequently should weights be calibrated?
- Initially weights are usually calibrated on an annual basis, dependant on material type and how they are handled and
stored. Once a history of uncertainty has been established the calibration cycle can be varied. Your quality system will help you identify the calibration interval.
The period is usually based on the time interval for a significant change in mass to occur or for the weight to move outside the appropriate tolerance.
Please email us or telephone 020 8937 5513 if you require further

How much will it cost to Test my weights or measures?

Where are you located?
What other measuring equipment can you test?
We test Non automatic weighing machines (NAWI) (EC class III) and Petrol Pumps (Liquid Fuel Meters) under UK & EC Directives (MID).
Large weighing machines and Petrol Pumps have to be tested where they are installed.
It is more ecconomic to test small weighing machines at our Offices unless there are many requiring testing at the same time.
Length measures can be tested to EC class II or III accuracy (1m to 20m).
