Business Advice - Licencing

Poisons Registrations
We issue registrations to non-pharmaceutical premises such as hardware stores that stock products which contain poisonous substances, for example, caustic soda or path cleaners. In order for businesses to supply these type of goods they must be registered with the local authority. For further information or advice, please contact the Business Advice Line on 01273 292523.

Fireworks Registrations
Under the Explosives Acts 1875 to 1976, Fireworks Acts 1975 to 1976 and Keeping of Fireworks Order 1959, a license is required to hold or sell fireworks on any premises. Any businesses that stock explosives have to register with the Local Authority by contacting the Trading Standards Business Advice Line on 01273 292523. The local authority (often in conjunction with the local Fire Services) will inspect premises to ensure that safety conditions are met before issuing the licenses.
