Local Business Partnership  

There are two Local Business Partnerships in New Devon, one in Exeter and one in North Devon. The partnerships are made up of 

• representatives from each of the local groups that have an interest in business 
• representatives of agencies that are responsible for enforcement functions which impinge upon trade and business in the area.

Purpose

The partnerships provide a platform where local business representatives and enforcement agencies can meet to discuss proposed changes in the law, consult on ways of educating and informing businesses of their need to comply with legislation, raise issues regarding the application of the law and, wherever practical, to seek uniformity and consistency in it's application. The partnerships also encourage 'best practice' from within the business community in it's compliance with the law, and also from across the regulatory bodies in their application of the law.
