It is my great pleasure to invite you to the Trading
Standards Institute’s 116th annual conference.

Edinburgh 2010 is ready and waiting for yet another extraordinary conference and exhibition. The main plenary session content will be topical, complemented by a full programme of masterclasses and mini-theatre sessions and the exhibition promises to be as busy as ever. Look out for information on TSI training for members and businesses – a new and added-value element at our flagship event.

Conference 2010 will follow a general election and whoever steps into power will have to deal with a weak economic climate and public sector debt. TSI knows that during these particularly difficult times both business and consumers need more support from the very public sector institutions that may also be threatened by public sector cuts. Our conference will provide the platform to debate all the relevant issues so that we can go forward with the right balance between market surveillance and intervention as well as showing consumers how to protect themselves.
