A: ...with the fair trading award. Your staff will learn the basics of consumer rights and we are offering two free modules!

The fair trading award consists of five modules and teaches your staff all about consumer rights and customer service. Available online, at a time to suit you, each module can be completed in less than 45 minutes. It is an ideal way to bring your staff up to speed with the issues highlighted in the “Know Your Consumer Rights Campaign” a collaboration between Consumer Direct, the Trading Standards Institute, Consumer Focus and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Take a look at our FTA online leaflet (PDF 412KB). We are offering two free modules, The Sale of Goods Act and The Supply of Goods and Services. The great news is, if your staff complete a further three modules at only £30 plus VAT each, they will be awarded the intermediate FTA certificate - a nationally recognised award issued by the institute. Additional modules include:

• Consumer Law and Trading Standards
• Criminal Law
• Liability and Due Diligence
• Selling Fireworks.

About the modules...

Each module is assessed by way of a short online test; this is compulsory if you want to complete the module and progress to completion of the full fair trading award. Please note, you will need to print a copy of each module certificate gained at the time of taking the test for future use.

The modules can be taken in any order, offering maximum flexibility for both employers and individuals. You do not need to complete all modules in one sitting; they may be taken over a maximum time period of six months.
