launch event

National Consumer Week 2012, on the theme of Cold Calling - Don't Buy It launched on 12 November from the Age UK's London hub on Tavistock Square.

BBC personality Gloria Hunniford, of Rip Off Britain and Doorstep 999, consumer minister Jo Swinson MP, TSI's chief executive Ron Gainsford and Age UK's head of information and advice Lucy Harmer spoke to an audience of consumer organisation and police representatives about the huge problem caused by cold calling doorstep traders, in particular those offering home maintenance services.

Our clip of money saving expert Martin Lewis supporting the Cold Calling - Don't Buy It campaign, and the no cold calling 'super sign' was also shown.

Media coverage, which had started earlier in the day with a feature on ITV's Daybreak, continued with London Tonight filming the launch event and interviewing Ron Gainsford and Gloria Hunniford.
