Food Standards Agency - Food Allergen Labelling and Information Workshops
Under the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulation (EU FIC) No. 1169/2011 and the national Food Information Regulation (FIR) 2014, new allergen requirements will be effective from 13 December 2014. This will impact on the labelling of prepacked foods and the provision of allergen information for non-prepacked food.
The latter covers catering premises such as restaurants, bakeries and takeaways (including food available online). In January and February 2014, the FSA in collaboration with TSI and CIEH and Campden BRI, will provide enforcement training in this area by holding 11 one-day workshops across England and Wales.
