NO COLD CALLING ZONES

Unfortunately when the doorbell rings not all callers are who they say they are. It is all too common for vulnerable members of the community, typically older people, to be deceived, even intimidated and threatened, by callers pretending to be genuine contractors.

These cowboy traders often fleece people for extortionate amounts of money for work that is either shoddy or unnecessary in the first place.

The Trading Standards Institute (TSI) recently launched an initiative to help residents set up ‘No Cold Calling Zones’ in their neighbourhoods.

In September 2006 we launched our first No Cold Calling Zone in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham - see press release.
