Consumer Direct is a telephone and online consumer advice service, supported by the Department of Trade and Industry.
Consumer Direct provides clear, practical advice to help consumers sort out problems and disagreements with suppliers of goods or services. From overcharging to faulty goods, from dodgy workmanship to reporting dishonest traders and scams, Consumer Direct's advisers are ready to offer solutions for individual problems.
The Consumer Direct telephone service currently operates in Scotland, South West England, Wales and Yorkshire and the Humber. It will become operational in other regions in the future and will ultimately become a national service.
