As a service we are committed to consumer education. There is currently a considerable amount of national and local interest in the diet of young people. As part of this commitment we have developed resources to help encourage young people to eat a balanced diet.

Visit our Virtual Interactive Shopping Information OnliNe.

Explore the aisles of the Vision Food Hall and find information on over 90 different food items, or take the 'Are you balanced?’ challenge to find if your selection of food represents a balanced diet.

Cyril the Circus Seal

In a booklet intended principally for Key Stage 2 pupils in years 3 and 4, Cyril  gives an amusing and informative guide to balanced nutrition.

Parents can read the booklet with their children and encourage them to choose a balance of foods from all of the food groups. Teachers can download and print material to be used in class work.

Sidney the Labelling Detective

Cyril is back, this time with his nephew Sidney. In a story aimed at key stage 2 pupils and their parents, Cyril and Sidney show how to get the right balance with school lunchboxes.
