Underage Sales
There are strict laws prohibiting the sale of certain items to
young people, but judging a young person’s age can be very difficult.

advice to traders on selling age-restricted products
Together with our colleagues in the South West we have produced a
comprehensive training pack called No Proof of Age, No Sale on CD-ROM to help businesses train their
staff. Regular updates will be issued on the SWERCOTS* website.

the use of proof of age cards
Find out about PASS accredited proof of age cards and how to apply for
one on the PASS website.

We carry out
test purchasing operations
Assisted by young volunteers we
check for compliance with the law.
