HOME IMPROVEMENT AGENCIES

Lancashire's Home Improvement Agencies (HIA's) work together to improve homes, health and enable independent living for older, disabled and vulnerable people, enabling them to live in safe, secure and well-maintained homes. HIA's provide the help necessary to tackle essential housing repairs and adaptations and they can also be the link to other practical support services, which may be available from the HIA itself or from other organizations.

Home Improvement Agencies employ small locally based teams of specialist staff who visit people in their own homes and offer advice about options for repair, improvements or adaptations. Their work ranges from sorting out mending a leaky tap right through to a major adaptation of the whole property for a disabled person.
