Trading Standards have launched a scheme aimed  at recognising and rewarding good practice that prevents and discouraged sales of age restricted products to children. 

In order to gain the award, businesses must be nominated by members of the public and in return will be given free training and support by trading standards in respect of age restricted sales legislation.

Test-Purchase Volunteers Needed!

Trading Standards are looking for young persons aged between 14 - 17 who can help with covert test purchases of alcohol, cigarettes and other age restricted products.

All test purchases are carried out in accordance with strict health and safety criteria so your welfare is always our priority.

Typically your time with us will last no longer than 4 hours and will include time to get to know us as well as a chance to become familiar with your tactics for the each test purchase.

Whilst we are unable to pay you for your time, you will satisfied in the knowledge that you are helping your own community reduce anti-social behaviour, alcohol related violence and improve the health of its young persons.
