If your business is located outside
Northamptonshire and you wish to contact your local Trading Standards Service, then go to Trading Standards Central and enter your
postcode.
If
you are a Northamptonshire business, we can send you
leaflets including those produced by other organisations
such as the
Office of Fair Trading
(OFT),
Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) and
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Customised business advice Use a 'wizard' to select relevant advice leaflets tailored to your requirements.
Some
businesses need to obtain a registration or licence before
they can trade or sell certain goods. The PDF document below
contains some of the most common requirements but there are
others. Fees may be chargeable and the appropriate regulator
will advise you of the current costs if applicable.

Northamptonshire Business and European Information Centre (NBEIC)
Provides
information on companies, the European Union, importing and
exporting, and every aspect of running a business. NBEIC
acts as a central point for business information with
on-line databases, CD-Rom, books and journals. Referrals to
more specialist sources of information and advice are made
where appropriate.

Northamptonshire Co-operative Development Agency (NCDA)
Provides free
advice to groups wishing to start co-operatives and
practical help is available with market research, raising
finance, finding premises and book keeping. Includes
'Livewire' which gives help, support and encouragement to
people between the ages of 16 to 25 wishing to set up a
business or prepare a business plan.
