Consumer Direct

Your link to free advice on a range of consumer issues

-----

The way in which consumers across the UK are able to obtain free advice concerning a wide range of issues changed in 2004.

Trading Standards services nationally have joined forces with central government ( Directgov ) to provide a new and expanded service to all consumers called Consumer Direct.

Consumer Direct has a regional advice centre which is open from

8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday and

from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.

This is a considerable expansion of hours for North Somerset residents as we were previously able to offer a mornings only service on weekdays.

The call centre will be able to fully answer around 90% of calls. Any issue which requires action by North Somerset Trading Standards Service, such as more complex civil law enquiries, criminal complaints and urgent matters will be automatically referred to us for action.

-----

Consumer Direct can be contacted:-

by telephone on (08454) 04 05 06 (local rate) or

via the Consumer Direct Contact us link.
