Yatton resident conned by Scam Ticket website
25 May 2010 A lady from Yatton, North Somerset has contacted trading standards after being scammed by a bogus online ticket seller.
In July '09 she paid £178 to ukticketfactory (www.ukticketfactory.com) for a Mark Knopfler concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, 30th May 2010. She was told the tickets would be delivered 2 weeks before the concert, so it wasn't until a week before the concert that she became concerned that the tickets had not arrived. She made enquiries and found the website had been taken down, the phone number was false and she had no other way of contacting them. The payment had gone through Hungary. The bogus firm should not be confused with the reputable ticket company ' The ticket factory'. Bogus websites may use similar names to those of reputable companies in order to confuse consumers.
