Appeals

Candidates who have not achieved the required pass mark undergo an individual and collective moderation. Any circumstances notified to TSI with the proper supporting material will have been taken into consideration during the ratification process.  You can still appeal any examination taken, even if you have previously notified us of your circumstances.

Where you were unaware of a circumstance that may have affected your performance during your exams, or where you now have further information relevant to your previous notification, you may wish to consider appealing.  Please follow the steps set out below. A non-refundable fee is payable.

Appeals will not be considered where candidates disagree with the mark awarded unless a reason staing how your performance was affected is included.

The TSQF Appeals Procedure

Step 1

Your results letter will state the date by which all appeals must be received in writing at TSI Head Office. Please consult this letter. All results letters are posted on the same day by first class post and are expected to be delivered the next working day.

Candidates have 20 days from the results letter date to submit a letter of appeal to TSI marked 'Private and confidential' and 'For the attention of the Education and Training Manager'.

In the letter you should state the reasons for your appeal (see guidance notes below) and either include a cheque or an indication to invoice your authority (please provide a purchase order number). This fee is non-refundable. Your results letter will provide you with the cost.

If payment has not been provided or an indication to invoice your authority given, an appeal cannot go ahead.

Please provide all supporting material with your letter.

The Panel will turn down your appeal if there is insufficient evidence provided.

Step 2

The appeals panel will convene after the 'notification of appeal' period has expired. The date will be selected by TSI.

Step 3

The appeals panel is made up of four voting members, and a non-voting member representing the Awarding Body.

Details of your appeal will be provided to members a minimum of one day prior to the meeting.

All decisions taken by the appeals panel are final.

Step 4

You will be notified of the decision in writing within five working days of the meeting.
