The portfolio task D (PDF 75KB) has been reviewed to reflect the introduction of CPRs. All portfolios (apart from foundation) should now work towards this new task including the animal health and welfare portfolio.
Task D currently has a seperate assessment matrix and checklist.
Guidance on task D can be gained from your regional EV, however TSI can advise that an investigation can follow either a criminal or a civil route. Best practice would be for both routes to be covered over the two investigations, however this is not a requirement.
animal health and welfare bridging portfolio
A number of elements comprised the DCA Certificate in Animal Health and Welfare. TSI until now has only given a person who achieved this qualification credit for the examination element within the TSQF.
The Animal Health and Welfare National Panel requested that TSI compare the DCA Certificate in Animal Health and Welfare workbook with the TSQF Animal Health and Welfare skills portfolio.
A gap analysis was completed and a Animal Health and Welfare bridging portfolio was compiled to enable a candidate who has achieved the DCA Certificate in Animal Health and Welfare to gain credit for their workbook within the current framework. Therefore candidates who have achieved the DCA Certificate in Animal Health and Welfare can now not only get a credit for the examination but can also get a credit for their workbook by completing the short Animal Health and Welfare bridging portfolio.
Credits for these two elements will allow a candidate to gain the Animal Health and Welfare service delivery module within the TSQF.
