Review of Registration process for TSQF

TSI have undertaken a review of the registration process to consider if it is still fit for purpose.  This review has identified to ensure that the framework remains sustainable, as of April 2011, a new Pay as you Go registration method will be adopted.

If you are a newly registering candidate:

  1. 1.  You/your employer will be required to pay the initial candidate registration (always refer to the current TSQF fee structure for information), which covers your registration for the first three years.
  2. 2.  After three years, if you have actively participated eg entered exam(s) or submitted portfolio(s), then an annual fee currently set at £50 for members and £65.75 for non-members per candidate will be applicable.
  3. 3.  If after the initial registration has occurred, and no activity is recorded against your account after three years, then, a yearly registration fee currently set at £92 for members and £121 for non-members per year for the next three years will be applicable.  If after this three year period you have started participating within the framework, you would then be eligible for the £50 yearly fee.

If you have previously registered within last two years (2008 – 2010):

  • You will be contacted when your 3 year anniversary is eligible, at which point you will be assessed for activity on your account.  If you have participated within the framework, point (2) above will be activated, and continue whilst activity occurs.  If no activity is recorded on your account, then point (3) above will be activated.

If you have previously registered, over two years ago (registrations received prior to 31/12/07):

  • You will be contacted early January 2011 (and thereafter each year).  Where activity has been recorded, point (2) as stated above will be activated, on your account.  Where no activity is recorded for the last three years, then point (3) above will be activated.

If, after three years, you are contacted initiating either points (2) or (3), and payment is not received by TSI, after 1 year your account will be held as dormant.  To reactivate, and still take advantage of any prior knowledge previously registered under the ‘grandfather rights’ period, point (3) will be activated.  If no payment is received after a period of three consecutive years, the registration will be deleted, and if at a later point you wish to undertake activity within the framework, a new registration will be needed.  Any prior qualifications older than five years that may have previously been registered under the grandfather rights period would now be required to go through the assessment of prior learning procedure at a further cost (fee available on the TSQF Fee Structure).

Please note: where any registration fee is stated above, these will still be subject to review and increased when required, as per the current method used.
