Special requirements
The awarding body recognise that examinations may not always be straightforward for everyone and try to ensure that measures are in place to support candidates during their examinations. Receiving additional aid will not negate your right to appeal.
If you have special needs, an ongoing condition or suffer an injury before your exams you may make a request to TSI regarding any specialist need you require for your examinations and assessment.

What arrangements can be made?
Arrangements are made on a case by case basis, dependent on the circustances presented
- Extra time - is allocated in line with a formal report provided by the candidate, or alternatively TSI will follow the procedures as set by the awarding body.
- Computer - is allocated in line with a formal report provided by the candidate, or alternatively TSI will follow the procedures as set by the awarding body.
- Scribe - is allocated in line with a formal report provided by the candidate, or alternatively TSI will follow the procedures as set by the awarding body.
- Exam paper reader - is allocated in line with a formal report provided by the candidate, or alternatively TSI will follow the procedures as set by the awarding body
- Other - Other requirements not listed above but have been agreed by TSI before the examination takes place.
If it is deemed you can sit your exam in your local authority a contract between TSI and your authority detailing requirements of a satellite exam venue and expected standards and procedures of the awarding body is issued.
Difficulties during the exam
Please make any difficulties known to the invigilators, who may be in a position to help you. They can contact the education and training team during the exam to notify them of the problem and receive any further instructions as necessary.
After the exam
TSI will inform the examiner and moderator of the measures taken. When ratification occurs, a report is provided to all members of the awarding body for their consideration.
Learning disability
If you have any learning difficulties, please contact the education and training team. You will need to provide a copy of a report produced by a chartered psychologist or an appropriately qualified personnel.
