Aims and Priorities Shropshire County Council Trading Standards Service is responsible for the enforcement of a wide range of legislation governing the supply and marketing of goods and services at all levels in the marketplace, together with responsibilities and duties under animal health and welfare legislation. We deal with both civil and criminal law and enforce Acts and Regulations relating to food quality and standards; product safety; trade descriptions; animal health and welfare; agricultural standards; weights and measures; consumer credit; trade marks and unfair trading practices. Shropshire County Council’s vision is to improve the quality of life for the people of Shropshire, and the Service aims to contribute by enhancing economic welfare within the County by means of the promotion, maintenance and improvement of a fair and safe trading environment for the benefit of consumers and traders alike. On occasions however you may feel dissatisfied and if so you should
not hesitate to inform us. In the first instance we suggest discussing
your concerns with the person you are dealing, often this will be all
that is necessary to resolve the issue. Should further action be required
or if you have concerns about the way our service has been provided
