About Us

Our priorities for 2006 - 2007

We are committed to a process of continual improvement utilising wherever possible partnership working and modern technologies.

During the year we aim to :

Continue to target illegal sales of age restricted products particularly alcohol and develop and deliver four new educational initiatives to reduce youth related crime and disorder

Improve protection for the vulnerable by extending our proactive consumer education programme, working with our partners, giving particular emphasis to the needs of the elderly and those with special needs.

Participate in development of a South Tyneside Community Legal Service Partnership

Develop our consumer education role by providing support to schools in relation to the citizenship part of the national curriculum.

Carry our further stakeholder consultation in accordance with departmental plan
