Unwanted Christmas Presents?
We are often asked at this time of year if
a refund can be demanded for unwanted christmas presents.
The law is clear on this point and if the goods are
not faulty it is unlikely that you have any legal right
to you money back. You may have to rely on the shop's
policy if they have one. Most retailers will offer you
a refund or replacement if you have a receipt.
You may however have additional rights when shopping
from home either by phone or on the internet. The Distance
Selling Regulations give you the right to change your
mind and cancel most orders within seven working days
(seven working days after the day on which the goods
are received by the buyer). And remember online retailers
may have a returns policy over and above this, so its
worth looking at the sellers terms and conditions.
