South Tyneside 'Safetrader' extended
to motor trade |

|
South Tyneside's popular 'Safetrader' Scheme for building
contractors was extended on 1 March 2005 to include
businesses in the motor trade with premises in South
Tyneside.
The successful building contractors scheme for local
legitimate business engaged in the building industry
was launched in February 2003 and has a high satisfaction
rate among users and the majority of businesses report
an increase in trade since joining.
To be registered you must agree to abide by the terms
and conditions of the scheme, have your systems audited
by trading standards and pass background checks eg Office
of Fair Trading and County Court Judgement records.
A robust complaints procedure that works is also required
to ensure that consumers get a fair deal.
In the unlikely event of a complaint not being resolved
between yourself and customer you must agree to arbitration
by the Trading Standards Service.
If the experience of businesses registered in the building
contractors sector is repeated could lead to an increase
in your turnover.
To find out more information on the scheme and how
to apply visit 'Safetraders'
