Shopkeeper Fined For Making
False Declaration |
22 Feb 2006 |
A South Tyneside shopkeeper has been fined and had
her personal liquor licence suspended after pleading
guilty to making a false declaration on the licence
application form.
Dorothy Linney, of The Wine Shop, Prince Edward Road,
South Shields, was fined £100 by the town's magistrates,
who also ordered her to pay £150 towards the cost
of the prosecution brought by South Tyneside Council.
Her personal liquor licence was suspended for 12 weeks,
to run concurrently with an existing eight-week suspension
ordered by the Bench recently (February 10th) for selling
alcohol to a child.
In this latest visit to court, Mrs Linney admitted
failing to disclose that she had a previous conviction
for an underage sale in 2004.
