Expert Advice On Community Safety |

Residents in the Rekendyke area of South Shields are
urged to pop along to a community safety event for
some top-quality advice on keeping themselves and their
families safe.
Staff from the Trading Standards and Anti-Social Behaviour
staff teams at South Tyneside Council, Community Wardens,
the Drug Action Team, the Fire Service, Nexus and St
John's Ambulance will be passing on essential safety
information, and giving demonstrations.
The community safety day is taking place as part of
the Safer South Tyneside Initiative. It has been organised
by the Rekendyke Partnership and takes place in Living
Waters and St Jude's Church Hall, Rekendyke, from 1pm
to 4pm on Wednesday, 24th October.
Chairman of the Rekendyke Partnership Councillor Ed
Malcolm said: "It is vital that our residents
have the skills and knowledge to be able to take control
if they find themselves or their families in jeopardy.
This community safety event is an ideal way for them
to learn how to do this."
There's also a fun element to the proceedings, with
a Dr Who theme for the children, who are asked to enter
a painting of a monster in a competition. Mask making
and face painting will also be on offer.
