Private Hire Operator LicenceLicence Summary
Any person who operates Private Hire Vehicles must apply to the Local Authority for a Private Hire Operators Licence.
A Private Hire Vehicle may only be despatched to a customer by a private hire operator who holds an operator's licence. Such a licence permits the operator to make provision for the invitation or acceptance of bookings for a Private Hire Vehicle.
A Private Hire Operator must ensure that every Private Hire Vehicle despatched by him is licensed and driven by a person who holds a Private Hire Drivers Licence issued by the Local Authority.
It is a criminal offence to operator Private Hire Vehicles without an Operator's Licence.

The following documents are to be submitted in person or by post for a new or renewal application:
Applicants are required to obtain planning consent, where necessary, for the premises they intend to operate from. A copy of the planning consent should be submitted with your application.
Officers may require a site visit prior to the determination of the licence application.
