We take an active role in improving the quality of goods and the standard of services within the county. We advise traders on how to comply with the law and implement best practice. We also aim to protect honest businesses from unfair competition and prosecute those who persistently or deliberately break trading laws. Our officers inspect and sample from manufacture through to the shelf. We offer support and an advice service to any business within the county and actively encourage compliance with the Home Authority Principle by acting as the first line contact for other Trading Standards Departments.
